Tiered / Pillared: Working with levels is a great idea when displaying cakes, especially if you want them to stand out among the other types of food or dessert present on your spread. To achieve this type of presentation, you will need either a tiered or pillared cake stand.
The Standard Pedestal Type_ The pedestal type is probably the most common type of cake stand in use today. Whether it's in the home, at a bakery, or on a coffee shop counter top, the pedestal cake stand is normally what you see. The diameters of these typically range between 6" to 12" and stand somewhere between 6" and 9" tall. Additionally, the pedestal types are topped with a glass cover in some instances as well making them ideal for displaying a single or double_layer cake, doughnuts, or muffins.
